Disappointing servicing coupled by merchandise pricing far higher than the competition as well as far lengthier delivery times.
HoweWorld used to be my favourite furniture store on the Island with an exceptional selection of wonderful "overpriced" merchandising. Now, the name is simply synonymous with inferior servicing and a refusal to price match on an identical item despite the written policy. I sincerely don't know what happened to this establishment, as it used to be a Hawaiian "institution", but has now evolved into one place that I would never patronize again.
Went into the store looking for a particular size dresser. Only one in the store that met our needs and we purchased the floor model. I think it was the attitude of the salesman that felt like ... if you don't like it ... well you get the drift. Why advertise a sale if your prices are barely reduced. We bought the dresser because of the size.. the delivery people were amazing but we won't go back. This business continually behaves consistently with false advertising. No contact from Business on orders many times. They will tell you orders take 3 months , when in fact they take 6months. No help from Managers or supervisors. No explanation as to why. Employees are rude and lazy. Once you order , you mean nothing to them.
Very unhappy about still not receiving our ordered couch for OVER A YEAR. We were originally told 6 months but just in case, please allow up to 9 months. OK we can do 9 months as the longest wait time. Then we were told December which would be a year and still nothing, not even a call. Now the gal says January taking us into a 13 month wait time. This Business will probably cost you a lot of grief and headache. If you try to buy furniture from this store you are going to find yourself up against a lot of pandemic related delay. The sales people at the store will tell you that this is a worldwide problem. And while this may be somewhat true it's not entirely true. The store carries a lot of furniture that needs long backorder time and I have always felt that it has something to do with their business model. Bad customer service. No follow thru when something goes wrong. We choose a pair of lamps to purchase here. We were using a store credit so arranged for the purchase on the phone after visiting the store earlier. We asked if we should pick up at the warehouse or in the store - this was the perfect opportunity for the sales person to tell us that we were getting the floor models, which she didn't tell us. There delivery service is awful !! 2 scheduled appointments and both times no call no show. I know they give a window time, but after that set time a call would be nice, hey running a little late so sorry. But nothing!!
Initially my experience with Homeworld was amazing. I was finally able to purchase a matching 3 piece living room set with sofa, loveseat and recliner but that soon changed after trying to have the sofa repaired after having it for 4 months.
