This is my second review of Homeworld. I am surprised to see that my first one was "filtered," although nothing in it was offensive or untrue. Today, we called again and were told that some parts of bedroom suite we ordered in July will arrive in December and the rest sometime next year. This is contrary to what we were told just a month ago. We have cancelled the order and strongly recommend that others consider our experiences with this business. We would not recommend Homeworld to anyone.
We purchased a bedroom suite in July and were told that we would have it by September or October. When checking on it today, we were told by the office that our shipment, which had been scheduled to leave in late August, had been "pushed back" as there were not enough items to be shipped, and that we can expect it sometime in December. I called the salesman later in the day to discuss what had happened. I reminded him that he had told us September or October and that we were now looking at 5-6 months, rather than the 2-3 ... read more
Used car lot equivalent for furniture. Either the salespeople ignore you or sucker you after stalking you around. First time we went we were completely ignored (but they were happy to help Asian customers - guess my money wasn't as good?). This should have been a warning sign but options are limited here and I was determined to purchase a sofa. Second time around we finally found a person that would talk to us. Sales experience itself was actually nice. The lady was very friendly and frankly I don't think she knows she's se... read more
Huge two story store. A lot of options that were somewhat pricey. Felt very pressured by the sales people, they sort of followed you around both stories as you walked through. It was usually the same person so I assume they followed me around looking for their commission. We were looking for a sectional and they didn't have one we loved so after two trips we ended up not buying anything.
O MY EFFIN G! I feel discrimanted against! joe and i walk in 20 mins after closing. clearly they aren't closed since a couple is being helped and the front door was ajar. an older asian woman employee walking by us says we're closed. as we turned around heading out she ask the white family we followed in if they needed help... better service at the honolulu location...
The delivery I recieved sucked! Talking about a low low customer service. Two big Samoan guys come into my house laughing and joking the whole time. Knock over some of my stuff then built my bed wrong!!!!! Also broke half of my furniture!!!! If you're getting any deliveries from these guys check the wood carefully! Knicked and dented everywhere! A big hassle and a big headache for me!
Hubby and I went shopping for a dining room table. As with the other reviewers, we had someone greet us and then follow us around the store. I personally don't like being bothered when I shop as it feels like I'm being rushed into making a decision. And since furniture is something that you're stuck with for a while, not like a shirt or a pair of jeans, it's something I really need to think about. After a while, the salesman stopped following us and we couldn't find him so we figured he found someone else. So while my h... read more
I have been to Homeworld and have actually had that happen to me also where the salespeople swarm you the minute you walk into the door. I have bought most of our furniture from that store to be honest. This last time we went there however was a completely different story. My husband and I went in there because we were prepared to buy 2 dressers and a dining room set that we had our eyes on. We couldn't get a single salesmen to even say hello to us let alone offer us help. We would walk around and when we would come near t... read more
I agree with the reviewer above me. I walked into the store and I was immediately surrounded by salesman. They started to follow me around the store to include the bathroom. After I told them I was looking, that should be enough. I was kinda creeped out, honestly. As far as furniture goes, it is "ok". Not really impressive, but Hawaii doesn't really offer a lot of choice. If you can handle being stalked then I recommend checking it out.
