My color and gloss are 5 starts. My shampoo and blowout are 1 star. This is my 3rd visit to MR and I love it but my blowout was lopsided and looked like a first week beauty school student did it. I will return again but probably dry my own hair. Danacorman@gmail.com

My first ever Yelp review. That's how upset I am. I went in to get my roots done and the manager of the Lincoln Park location did my roots, only because my regular salon wasn't available. The manager was nice during the initial consult and apparently has 14 yrs of experience but was very rough with my hair brushing and washing process like literally tugging my head full of hair during shampooing. I brought my mother here back in 2021 in hopes of signing up for their unlimited monthly subscription. Good thing we had my mom try it out before we did.... We asked for a lighter color and toned not warm, she came out with blazing bright red/orange hair. The colorist told us that they cannot tone hair to make it less warm, because the point of their services is only to match your current hair color to cover roots. I have never been someone to write a bad yelp review but I was very upset for wasting my time/money at this place. I went in for my roots to be done for a work trip but they came out orange and did not match my blonde hair. My stylist spoke maybe 5 words to me the entire time. I wouldn't be writing this if I thought it was an honest mistake but he simply did not put any effort into my hair at all. He rushed through my hair and seemed annoyed at my presence. The worst place ever. They are so unprofessional. I went for a touch up the night before I moved to Palm Beach. I walked in with red hair and came out with black hair. Two young women had no idea what they were doing and made me stand outdside of the building until they called me in. I had a flight the next morning and no time when you're packing for a cross country move. WHAT a major mistake. DO NOT GO HERE.

Do not go here! I just returned from a horrible experience at the Madison Reed Color Bar in Lincoln Park. I came in to have my roots dyed and accent highlights. I normally dye my hair at home, just doing the roots although I have had my hair lightened in the past 25+ years of dying my hair. I used MR at home and loved the color and its quality. I decided to go to the bar for the roots to use the specialist's color and glossing recommendation, after all coloring the roots at home is not an easy task. The colorist did a nice job coloring my hair and I like her color recommendation. However, she never came to check on me or even ask if I like the color at the end while she was charging me. If you have ethnic hair- AVOID THIS PLACE. While the stylists are African American, they follow a set process that was developed for non ethnic hair types. It's an assembly line approach. I went in for a color with highlights and they left the process on my hair so long that the highlights were brassy and uneven. In a few days, my hair started to fall out.
