Extremely weird and off putting experience at this salon not to mention awful results that were not at all what I went in for. My stylist, although a very nice individual to myself and his coworkers, was a very odd person who was saying very nonsensical things from the moment he started working on my hair. I've been using Madison Reed salons post covid. The Newport Beach location is really frustrating. You book your appointment in the app and three times in a row they canceled me without my consent. I have a favorite stylist who has done a beautiful job with my color, and the manager Emma switched me to someone else and told me that I could not request anyone in particular. Emma said she was happy to cancel my membership and made no effort to rectify the situation to make her customer happy. This is the worst customer service ... read more

If you have blonde in your hair don't come here. Worst experience I've had in any hair salon I've ever been to. Tried to show the stylist what I wanted and she disregarded it & proceeded to tell me to chose what toner I wanted ?!? How should I know?!? I told her I wanted my hair to just be a chocolate brown no more highlights blend my hair. I had a very poor experience at the Fashion Island location of Madison Reed. They were significantly behind schedule, left the color product on my hair for 15 minutes too long, rushed through the shampoo, and when halfway through blowdrying my hair I discover they didn't rinse out all the color product. They offered to wash my hair again, however I chose to go home to wash and dry my hair. The whole process was dragging out so long. I had the WORST experience at Madison Reed Fashion Island Newport Beach. I was disrespected, ignored, lied to, and humiliated. The District Manager, Ciello, was very rude and EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL!! She apparently fired the specialist who was taking care of my hair IN THE MIDDLE of my waiting for the 45 minute timer before my shampoo rinse!! Who does that?!! I was pleased with the service I received the first time I visited even though my color was way to dark. The technician was personable and very attentive. The second time I went in A different person applied my color even though I asked for The original person. So the color was applied. Never saw that person again. Another rinsed it out. all of nearby locations i experience same thing. i cannot emphasize enough how much this place and their lack of knowledgable staff and product damaged my hair. you wont notice at first as your hair is healthy like mine was before getting a membership, their color destroyed my scalp and hair health!

I initially liked Madison Reed, but the liking has been diminishing fast! They charge extra for additions you didn't ask for or didn't even know you got, no one answers the main customer service number anymore, and you can't send a message via the app.

Fourth visit here, my first visit was the best of all maybe because I wasn't a member yet. The stylist just treat you like a number or a tip. I arrived to my appointment on Sunday and I noticed there were four clients in chairs and three stylist working on them. I walked in and no one greeted me, I waited 10 min at the register to get checked in.
