Reliable auto-duplex! We have been using this for over a year. We print wirelessly, we use the duplex feature constantly and we print a lot. We print mostly in monochrome, but occasionally print in color. We also utilize the amazon dash auto-replenishment. We have had almost no issues. In the past year, we have had maybe two paper jams. Does Much More Than I Expected! Currently, I'm a researcher at a large university. Prior to purchasing the printer, I thought my needs would mainly consist of printing out 20-page academic reports (100+ per year) and creating drafts for publishing and materials for teaching. Reliability improved dramatically from rough start 8/24 Update 4 I don’t know if an update was pushed out recently but the printer has experienced no network issues for the past month. Printing performance has been wonderful and (knock on wood) reliable. I didn’t want to be disappointed shortly after updating my review again, so I waited a month to ensure the printer didn’t experience any issues before updating. Solid machine with multiple capabilities and decent quality I've been in the market for a workhorse printer. I have a Canon b&w laser printer, but it's getting old and takes up a fair bit of space, and because of its age, its scanning function sometimes checks out with Windows 10 updates (though Canon finally issued a patch for the driver that seems to be holding). Ink for a loooooong time and easy to set up. Works great, easy set up and for gods sake...no ink needed for 2 years (maybe less if I do a whole lot of printing) but still...that's a great deal. I like the white color. Looks nice and clean in my office and Brother printers have never failed me. This printer does everything I want and is simple to use.
Reduces out-of-ink surprises What I like about the INKvestment Tank series is not so much the economical aspect -- rather it's about reducing the chance of getting an out-of-ink surprise in the middle of an important print job on a busy day. The included high yield LC3033BK/Y/C/M cartridges are supposed to last about a year with typical use. Dependable economical printer not suited to photo reproduction. This is a well made and dependable printer for work that does not require a high degree of color accuracy. If you intend to pring photos, either get a different printer or take the photos on a thumb drive to Wal-Mart. If you want to print fliers and first rate color is not your objective, this is an economic alternative to a higher quality printer.
Lots of features. I have been very pleased with Brother printers I have had in the past. I have one I just had to retire, not because it wasn't working, but because it was so old my computer didn't support it. It is nice to replace it with one that has more features. I sure hope the claim that the ink will last for a year is true. I am glad I was able to get a printer with more features than the one it is replacing.
