I will never buy another Brother Printer I received a "Toner Low" signal from the printer. I bought a Brother toner cartridge and put it into the printer. It immediately told me that there was not a toner cartridge in the printer. I called Brother this morning and the technician could not help me. She said that a more experienced technician would call me and help me. We arranged for a time for that technician to call me. The technician never called. Scanner would constantly go into sleep mode as an energy saving feature Scanner kept going into sleep mode if I didn’t use it for an hour. I called Brother 3 tines & wasted 3 hours trying to rectify the issue. They were not helpful at all. More frustrated that they didn’t even understand the problem.
I needed a larger capacity of scan and faxing, ... I needed a larger capacity of scan and faxing, plus with the additional of an extra drawer, my business docs just fly off the machine! I should have bought this years ago!
Not for use with Apple Computer I am very disappointed with this printer. It works great with Windows computers, but it will not maintain a connection with an Apple computer. Once the printer goes to sleep the computer and printer lose connection. Bottom line is if you have Windows computers this is a great printer, but it is NOT usable with Apple computers.
Great Printer. Not so great scanner. Way faster and quieter than my old Brother Multifunction printer which this replaced. However, after scanning a few documents, I noticed a black line in the same place on every sheet. Opening the printer, I find an instruction label outlining the procedure for cleaning the glass surfaces that pick up the image when a page is scanned on auto feed. Very disappointed as we have had other Brother printers and never ... Either the drum or the printer is defective. Having issues with the drum that came with the new printer. We have only had this printer a little over a month. Very disappointed as we have had other Brother printers and never had an issue. Now we have to buy a new drum and hope it isn't the printer damaging the drum. Very costly!
Smudges on Pages after Idle I have purchased several of the model that came before this one - one finally gave out - needing a new laser unit (lifetime about 3 years). Given previous experience, I decided to buy this generation. I have had two of the MFC 5900's now and I am finding if the unit idles for a couple of days,pages develop black spots/smudges on the first couple of pages. Brother says to clean the drum - unsure why this would have to happen on a new printer ... running quality paper ... no labels, etc. I really do... read more
I returned this item because it was not what I wanted. I wanted COLOR not B&W I returned this item because I thought it was a color MFC but was only black and white. I guess I will read the description closely!!
I bought this January 29, 2017, less than ... I bought this January 29, 2017, less than 3 months ago, and the document feeder no longer works. It destroys any paper you attempt to put into the feeder.
