Out of Paper Notice when Paper Tray Full Check the Internet for problems with all Brother printers. They work fine for a year, then the dreaded "Out of Paper" warning and beeps when the paper tray is full. Turn the printer off then on (and lose the document in the buffer), reinstall the driver and it works. For a couple days. Then beep-beep-beep ... "Out of Paper." Go with HP for $20 more.
Dirty Copies This print quality is terrible. This is my fourth Brother Printer and I have never had so much trouble. All the copies are smudged and dirty. I have tried technical support many times and nothing works.
NOT COMPATABLE WITH APPLES Printer is fast however, not compatable with Mac. Cuts off pages in PDF. Also, document feeder has to be held down with your hand. If you don't, the documents become damaged and the printer itself is unable to scan. Will never buy a brothers again. Waste of Money!
Stopped working after 4 months This printer stopped working after only 4 months.
After 1 year, countless hours on the phone, I wish I could return it. I run a small business, and this was my second brother machine. My first one was a simple laser scanner/copy/printer/fax. As our business grew, I upgraded to the brother MFC-L5900DW and have been regretting the decision ever since. I would return the machine if I could, but Brother will not let me. Not reliable only after 5 month, the Scan Unable AF
Disappointing Piece of Crap Exactly a day after the return window closed, it starts printing with heavy splotches and background haze. Looks like garbage and wastes toner. The networking abilities are cudgel-y as well. I've been a Brother fan for years, but they got me on this one. Out $400 bucks for this worthless piece of trash. Too bad, very promising.
Worked great for two months. Has been a lemon since I replaced an older Brother printer to add more speed and capability. It met my expectations for two months. For the last three months it has had poor print quality and needs to be rebooted several times per day to connect to the network. Have wasted hours on my own and on the phone with technicians to resolve issues. Get some improvement for a couple of days at a time and then the problems return. I would return it but I am too late.
