Great printer but Don't buy it if you are using OSX. Printer is great, solid build and fast. The support for OSX is an afterthought. I never got the printer firmware to update because it could not find the printer. I tried OSX 10.12 and 10.13 including a flatten and reload with only the OS, Java, and Brother software installed specifically to run this printer. Printing was fine, only the updater was failing. Total waste of money Do not buy! After 3 months & 3295 pages the device started throwing a scan error A9. Brother would not replace it. Total waste of money. Brother printers have dropped in quality to a point where I sure would not buy them anymore.
HUGE WASTE OF TIME As an highly rated small office all in one printer, you'd assume it would be able to duplex print. But no, it can duplex copy, but not duplex print. Makes absolutely no sense. Now all of our contracts we have to print, then copy to make them double sided. HUGE WASTE OF TIME. This is not a small office printer and hardy a decent home printer...
Junk. Cheap. Nice size of toner cartridge, that's it. also.... ugly. I can only recommend this machine for printing. Scanning and faxing is completely unprofessional. I returned the first because of crooked scanning feed. This replacement is no better. It is a plastic piece of low end junk and not a machine for a working professional or small business owner looking to send multi-page documents via electronic means. Very disappointing. It works ok, but has some issues with the document feeder and scanner Like it so far after using it for about 2 months. No major problems, but the feeder never runs the pages through the scanner straight. Every page is slightly slanted on scanning or copying if using the document feeder. There are often two vertical black lines through scanned pages when using the document feeder. The document feeder will occasionally get a page so slanted that it will damage the edge of the page. Drum Problem at the installation Drum failed immediately at the installation, and I had to spend one hour on the phone to resolve the issue.
Quality control problem? I had a good experience on my previous brother printer so I had purchased this unit. When I used this unit in first time it showed small toner speck in a printed page. Right now the toner specks appear on every printed pages. I do not recommend this printer at all.
