Toner Hack! keep printing when toner says change OK so I find it disgusting that there is no way to keep printing when Brother thinks your toner has had it--on my old mfc I used to cover the sensor eyes with black tape--does not work anymore--do not try that on this machine. took the time out of my busy day to help you guys keep printing past when brother wants you to install a new toner--if your toner is still good. you need to resest the counter. poor printer with usage on the printer of 40,000 copies or more, thought it was new? This was the worst printer I have ever purchased. It was not made clear before I bought it that it was rebuilt and already had 40,000 plus copies run through the printer. The quality of printing was poor from the beginning and the network card has gone out after two months. I am now out 800.00. The return window has run and now i am out $800.00. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
Just doesn't work I bought this to replace my MFC 8500 which I had for 6 years and loved. The machine needed about $250 in new parts so I decided to just get a new one. All sorts of problems since day one. Machines freezes, doesn't print. Scan function overly complicated. Not happy. Returned the product and am going to have to look at other brands.
Great while working, durability limited with no limited support Purchased November 2018 and loved it while it worked. Early June feeder copied with marks. Telephone tech support (long wait) helped with cleaning and it improved, then feeder stopped working. Now not able to find service. For $678 I expect it to last longer than 1.5 years. While it worked it was a great workhorse for my business.
Works well for a bit Overall, when this printer worked, it worked well. There were some sporadic issues of toner dumping and printing black splotches all over everything but those were far and few. I'm comfortable with technology in general, but I believe this printer has high ease of use compared with other products. Printer has completely stopped working We purchase this printer in June for our small office. It has just completely shut down. It will cycle on, flash a red X and then if you attempt to use any function it shuts down. Going through the steps in the manual, the only solution is dealing with Brother and warranty "repair" - no replacement. Incredibly dysfunctional for our busy office.
poor wifi connection consistently loses wifi connection. My router is 7 feet from the printer and this is the only device that could not stay connected.
Not worth $600 The printer constantly trips my circuit breaker. I moved it all around the house to different outlets, and even tried adding a surge protector. After calling brother, they were of no help, advising my to plug the unit directly into the wall. I explained numerous times the printer was plugged in directly and trips through circuit. I didn’t want to be stuck with this $600 printer that doesn’t work, so i returned it. It also prints on legal when it should auto detect paper size from time to time, which cost more ... read more
