Great Buy This printer is exceptional. I use it for business purposes as our main high volume printer for a group of 6 customer service reps. Little to no complaints (in toner save mode the copies are a little light). I'm now purchasing an additional unit for our alternate location. I intend to phase out all other BW MFCs with this model. It's changed/improved our level of efficiency. Installation takes less than 5 mins on Win 7, no restart required. Fast, effective, easy. 1.0 out of 5 stars Printer beeps very loudly when printing We purchased this printer about 2 weeks ago, and we are already having issues with it. It makes a terrible squeaking/beeping noise with each page it prints. Being a very busy Dr's office, we print a lot, so we hear the horrible noise all day.
Deep Sleep cannot be disabled - Brother is self bricking their printers!!! For reference, I am tech savvy. Also for reference, I used nearly 15 brother printers over the past 20 years. Never had major issues with them when they are working. But this printer has become a nightmare in a small office where we print frequently but not every 5 mins. Was okay until stopped. Initially there were issues with the printer right away. Customer service is painfully difficult and basically is email back and forth for days/weeks which is incredibly slow. The printer just doesn’t work well as a network printer. It’s really built for simple usb. No issues with making copies. After a year of issues it just stopped printing. Brother does not work well with Mac iOS updates. I am a big fan of brother but this one was a bad machine and Brother did not stand by their product.
That it Not be defective It defective. It doesn't preform at all as you promise or advertise it will.
Issue After Issue We purchased this printer for our small business. We had it for 8 months and continued to have printing issues- loud screeching noises, print quality, power cycling on and off, etc... We finally got Brother to send us a replacement. We were sent a refurbished one. Its been another 9 months with the refurbished printer, 27 calls to customer service, and endless chats with sending printed pages to show the issues we are having. Toner Hack! keep printing when toner says change OK so I find it disgusting that there is no way to keep printing when Brother thinks your toner has had it--on my old mfc I used to cover the sensor eyes with black tape--does not work anymore--do not try that on this machine. took the time out of my busy day to help you guys keep printing past when brother wants you to install a new toner--if your toner is still good. you need to resest the counter.
