Cannot collate pages Cannot collate. Repeat: When you are making multiple copies of a document with more than one page, this printer cannot collate the pages. You’ll spend extra time having to put the pages together yourself.
Did not last We have purchased brother machines for the past 18 years. I still have a functioning MFC from 2005 that was used in a busy office enviornment. This model worked well at first but it lost its ability access its hardwired Ethernet, then wifi scanning quit. Brother can't figure out why.
Short Life Span We purchased this about 16 months ago and use it consistently, but not heavily. It's broken down and no way to fix it without spending hundreds of additional dollars. I bought a Brother because of prior good experience where they've lasted for years, but for a $600+ printer when I purchased it, this is a rip off! No way should it be broken down already. And Brother is little to no help.
Creases paper and MP tray no longer works I like the fast scan setting. I don't like that it creases the paper and the MP tray sensor no longer works. Update - Took it to authorized Brother repair and they replaced fuser. Still very dirty copies. Finally junking the unit as the mp tray sensor does not work, dirty copies despite only using the manufacturers toner and drums and the ADF will not work now. Under 68k copies on a 700.00 machine. I have an older Brother MFC 8890DW that still works with 133K page count.
Black streaks when printing, not enough features I did research to get a new MFC for my office, and I'm so disappointed I went with this one. It's brand new, and I am getting black streaks all over my pages when I print, and uneven printing. I cleaned the drum, and it actually got WORSE after that! Also, there are not enough features to do what I want - I want the ability to add pages while scanning to prevent having to save a whole new file. Lines and ink marks all over the printed copies--Brand NEW! I am so very disappointed in this printer, especially because it is new and it was costly. I assumed that the price and the Brother brand would guarantee a great printer. I had a trusted Dell that produced crisp black and white copies, but it died after 7 years. Point: if you are hooking this up you cannot ... Point: if you are hooking this up you cannot use a power strip. It has to be plugged directly into the wall.
Terrible print quality a lot of dots on the prints. I have 6 brother laser printers. this is the newest one and worst. i will not buy brother machine anymore.
Very disappointed in this product Works for a little bit then the first page starts printing with creases. Brother replaced it once and replacement does the same thing. After months of back and forth trying to get issues resolved as they happen, company now says out of warranty so won't replace it. We were verbally told on the phone warranty would be extended because of all the issues but now that appears to not be so. Very disappointed in this product.
