Dr. Ammar was exceptional. I was referred to Retina Consultants San Diego after my optometrist noticed a retinal tear in my eye. Dr. Ammar noticed that I had a retinal detachment and was able to perform laser surgery while I was there on my initial visit. I feel very blessed that he was able to address this right away and save my eyesight. Dr. Ammar was very kind and reassuring in what was a very stressful situation. Thank you Dr. Ammar.

His demeanor is exceptionally pleasing and he exudes confidence which puts the patient immediately at ease because the patient knows that he or she is in the hands of a professional who practices at the very highest level. This was my first visit to Retina Consultants, and it was a wonderful experience.My optometrist discovered a retina tear & referred me to RCSD. I was able to get an appointment the next day and my injured was addressed during the same visit.Dr Ammar did a great job explaining the injury and what was needed. He performed the laser surgery without issue. I was really impressed with his professionalism.Dr Ammar’s team was great as well for the prescreening & dilation.
On this follow up visit Dr. Ammar took care of some bleeding in the back of my left eye caused from diabetes. Dr, Ammar has reattached my retina on my right eye and I have been going for follow up visits. I'm grateful for him not giving up on my retina when others did.
Staff and Dr. Ammar were knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. Diagnosis and explanation were thorough and Dr. Ammar took the time to answer all of my questions. I was also impressed with staff's handling of a very rude and impatient person in the waiting room.
