My mom was referred to Dr. Ammar by her regular eye doctor, because of Dr. Ammar's expertise and reputation in his specialty. As impressive as this is, what we also found is that Dr. Ammar is one of the kindest, most compassionate doctors my mom has ever had. And this kindness and warmth is also reflected in all of the staff. My mom receives monthly treatments, and we look forward to the visits. Truly the best! Grateful for him and his staff.
Dr. Ammar was exceptional. I was referred to Retina Consultants San Diego after my optometrist noticed a retinal tear in my eye. Dr. Ammar noticed that I had a retinal detachment and was able to perform laser surgery while I was there on my initial visit. I feel very blessed that he was able to address this right away and save my eyesight. Dr. Ammar was very kind and reassuring in what was a very stressful situation. Thank you Dr. Ammar.

This was my first visit to Retina Consultants, and it was a wonderful experience.My optometrist discovered a retina tear & referred me to RCSD. I was able to get an appointment the next day and my injured was addressed during the same visit.Dr Ammar did a great job explaining the injury and what was needed. He performed the laser surgery without issue. I was really impressed with his professionalism.Dr Ammar’s team was great as well for the prescreening & dilation.
On this follow up visit Dr. Ammar took care of some bleeding in the back of my left eye caused from diabetes. Dr, Ammar has reattached my retina on my right eye and I have been going for follow up visits. I'm grateful for him not giving up on my retina when others did.
