SCAM ALERT!!! Be careful folks... here's the newest scam from Mountainside. They request that you come in, in person to put a freeze on your account, tell you they will charge you $10 a month, until the first time you return to the gym and check in in person to use their facilities. When you return in person, they will charge you the regular monthly fee, at least according to member services. I will start this by saying that I have always loved Mountainside Fitness. I chose to go there because of the amenities and atmosphere. The price was considerably higher than other gyms but I always felt it was worth the added expense. Then Covid hit and things got crazy everywhere. The gym shut down and we all went into survival mode. Knowing that things were escalating with infections, I had to stop attending the gym as I have a weak immune system from a 2 year battle with Leukemia and that puts me at high risk. Went back after the gyms reopened to find hardly anyone wiping down equipment after use AND no staff cleaning equipment for the hour i was there. Called to cancel membership and manager told me that they clean...not that I saw. She also told me that they can't force patrons to clean...how about revoke their membership if they don'? And now after the gyms are closed again, they refuse to comply. Makes me question their motives, safety of patrons, or profits.

Tried giving this one a chance but it wasn't any better than the others. Gross equipment. No frequent disinfectant used between users. No mask enforcement. Don't feel safe here either.

Shame on these people to take advantage and charge our credit card during this Covid times. As soon as they opened up their business after the shutdown they charged our credit card without asking us if we want to continue or stop. And they refuse to refund our money for unused service. Reason we don't want to go during these times is to protect ourself and others. Horrible company with antiquated policies for our modern era. I will never return to this gym franchise because of their inability to be flexible and compassionate with their clients during this pandemic.

I have always liked Mountainside Fitness the pricing was reasonable, the site has a good number of amenities, there are a good amount of machines and free weights. That all being said the problem is with their system on cancellation. We normally would not be canceling and I would be giving them a 3 1/2- 4 star rating but with the corona virus being a pandemic and everyone self quarantining or should be at least, I have been trying to cancel my membership. Every treadmill volume is now set to 30 and can't be adjusted which means if you plug in your headphones you can't hear anything you might be watching. Asked the guy at customer service desk on my way out what was up and he said "hadn't heard that. Have a nice day". Not very helpful. I watch/listen to distract myself on the treadmill; this doesn't work for me.

My God fix the dang men's bathroom! Smells like steamy urine ALL THE TIME. been like that since I joined a couple of months ago and someone else stated that it's been like that forever. I honestly would not have joined had I known. It's unbearable. Stay away unless you really love the smell of a hot smelly unflushed toilet.
