my experience here has been awful. i walked in to start a membership and immediately felt judged like i didnt belong. i then though maybe the person who was signing me up just was having an off day. then i went into child care to sign up my child. i was then greeted my teenagers full of attitude who made it very difficult for me to trust them with my child. i then left to begin my workout and watch my child on the tv. i saw my child in complete traumatic destress and no on was trying to help her. they were all talking with t... read more
I love this location. We have gone here off and on and switched gyms in between for the past handful of years. We came back, it's just nice and I love the childcare. The hours for the childcare are SO much more flexible than our old gym. Lots of classes to choose from also. Really the only thing I don't like is that some staff seem really stuck up or judgy if you're not super fit. Our old gym was more friendly in that aspect, in the kidcare and staff on the floor. Other than that, no complaints.

Pros: This Mountainside Fitness location is conveniently located. It's usually clean. They had an issue with a bad rotten smell in the ladies locker room that lasted for weeks but it's gone now. Hopefully it won't come back. Cons: The music. It's too loud! When I'm there with a friend it's seriously hard to hear each other talk! Or when I go by myself i have to get the sound up a lot to hear my music. Each time i mentioned it they told me the level goes up and down depending on the song playing. My husband and I used to be members at the Ocotillo and Ahwatukee locations and have since cancelled going on almost a year now. A few days back, our member account was used somehow (despite it being cancelled and our tags being shredded / disposed of) and was compromised. My husband received an email receipt from this specific location with the charges listed. When I gave them a call to resolve this I got nothing but impatient, rude attitudes the entire way through. So...worked out tonight and thought wow the music is really loud that Mountainside plays overhead. Looking around I think 9 out of 10 people are wearing their own ear buds or head phones. So I asked the kid as I was leaving if they can turn it down and he says no and then says people complain about it all the time.

Hi Brian. Unfortunately, every now and then a song will come on with the volume really high and then the next song it's back to normal. It's how Pandora sets the volume. We do our best to keep it consistent, but every now and then, it gets loud. We do apologize and are considering other music options!
Love this location and the all of the amenities it provides! The daycare is a great added service to membership as well. The gym can get busy at peak times in the morning and early evening but other that that there is plenty of downtime throughout the rest of the day. I wake up and hit the gym every morning when they open. After my workout I like to relax in the steam room before I head to work. Recently it has been not working until the time I have to leave. I emailed the gym about my issue and within 24 hours I received an email and a phone call from the manager. Danielle went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. I will alway recommend this facility to everyone who enjoys great customer service and a great place to work out. Awesome job!!!

The location is really nice but - The equipment is always broken! They really need to keep up on maintenance of the equipment.
Fantastic gym!! Super classes, great cardio equipment. Nice front desk staff. Clean, fresh towels. Clean facility! The instructors are great. Sadly, they have cancelled a class I loved, but it happens. The bathrooms are big and clean and don't smell like sweat or dirty feet, which is a plus! The dance floor at some locations is nice, while others are laid directly on the cement and super suck and hurt when you use them. Over all we love Mountainside!
