Disgusted with this facility. We have used them for a number of years now with no major issues. We booked our pets boarding (two dogs) over two months ago - have confirmation #'s, have spoken with My Second Home regarding vaccination records, etc. to confirm we were all set. Today we arrive with my three children packed up in the car to drop off the dogs for our annual family Thanksgiving trip to visit family and find out that they have cancelled our reservation. Update: Vet confirmed my cats parasite was contracted from their kennel. The parasite sent him in a fit of horrible diarrhea which then caused him a horrible bladder infection. He spent most the day getting sick today due to the set of 2 pills he is on! IT'S NOT FUN CLEANING UP THROW UP AND DIARRHEA!!! Not to mention 3 trips to the Vets just for him!!! I am IRATE!!!! I've been taking my dog here for a couple years, and although I like the place itself, the staff bothers me. They make me feel like my dog is neglected. If he was, why would I take him to a freakin expensive pet resort for grooming? They always give me the 3rd degree about how I care for my dog, his shots, food, etc. My dog is by far the most pampered pup on the face of the earth, and everyone that knows me, knows this. For the fun of it, my responses to "Chris S.": My review is from November 2010. In 2010, my dog was injured, your organization paid $0.00. You did offer to charge me $25 to drive my dog to my own veterinarian though. If your policies have changed, 1.6 years in the future from the review, then I will simply take credit for complaining about your policy and your changing it. Unfortunately, virtually every statement made in that comment is false. First, we cover 100% of all injuries sustained when our company is at fault. We recently replaced a dog's ACL with TPLO surgery that ran over $4,000, and we did it gladly. I am sorry you have had a poor experience with customer service, most individuals find us quite cordial and friendly. have been taking my yorkie to get groomed at My Second Home for 4 years and her regular groomer is no longer there. I asked the new groomer to cut her hair short all over for the summer and when I picked her up she was SHAVED!!!! She doesn't look like the same dog. She is acting depressed and my vet told me to put sunscreen on her now when walking because she has no hair to protect her skin.
