Beware the on line menu not same as on site! Plus half of things were out! Poor menu options! Will not go there again!
Ordered an appetizer, supposed to be frito misto. Was the worst calamari and shrimp we have ever had, tasted like it was frozen out of the bag. Shrimp was bad and tasted chewy and fishy. Dipping sauce was squeezed out of a tube of something. Calamari was also miniature and mostly breading, not good at all. Was scared of what entrees would taste like. Got the check after two bites after the app and left. Beautiful patio set up, food was extremely disappointing.
We didn't actually eat there because no one came to take our order. The menu was also different than what you see on the opentable app which was very disappointing because I picked the restaurant based on the food offerings. It was loud and seemed a bit dingy. I wish they had the food we wanted so I could give it more of a chance.
I was expecting Mediterranean food! When we got there the menu was completely different and it was Asian food. The food was still delicious. I just think the menu should have been clear about the change.
I hate to leave a negative review, but I want to make sure others know about this spot. Really disappointing experience here—for multiple reasons. First, we thought it was a Mediterranean tapas place, but when we got there we discovered that it’s now an all Asian menu? The waitress explained they’re under new management and trying out a new menu, which is understandable and we gave it a shot as we both like Asian food too—but it just seems like they should update their restaurant description online to make sure customers are... read more
Main entrees like the shrimp and beef tenderloin were nothing special. Bread pudding was amazing though.
Timing was off when they brought the food to our table
We went during restaurant week where they basically have a set of 8 courses that they are offering (2 or 3 different options for each course) with two separate price points. The wait was ridiculous. I think we waited nearly 25 minutes for the first course alone and although we had bottomless sangria (for the first two hours) it took us nearly 45 minutes to get the first glass we won't even talk about how long we waited to get the carafe that they finally put on the table. The food was mediocre at best. We left a considerable... read more
Business response:
Sorry for the wait time, however it's restaurant week and as hard as we try we can't always control wait times during peak hours. Reservation that come in late will only delay the tables that come in after them. Please come in a non restaurant week night I'm sure your experience will be entirely different.
We were excited to try Nia, but should have known it was a bad sign that most of the tables were empty when we walked in at 8:30 on a Saturday night - not typical for restaurants in West Loop. We did the pre-fixe menu, and chose many of the recommendations from our server. The server was pleasant, but the food was not good at all, so disappointing. We even discussed the next morning how surprisingly bad all the food was. The ambiance was very outdated, especially considering it’s prime location on Randolph Street in West Loo... read more
