I had had severe ankle sprains for over 12 years, with severe ankle instability. Within about 2 minutes he knew exactly what was wrong, and told me my options. I had surgery to replace tendons in my ankle. I’m still recovering but now with more walking I can already feel how stable I am. I can live my life again!

I fractured both my tibia and fibula and the malleoli and Dr. Viens did my surgery. Not only was his bedside manner excellent, but his explanations regarding my recovery and range of motion were all perfect. My surgery went wonderfully, and I get compliments on how well my scars look all the time, too. My recovery and range of motion are EXCELLENT, and I healed even quicker than what is typically expected for my type of fractures.

I am 3.5 months out from a complicated surgery to repair numerous cysts in the bones of my ankle which had eroded the tibia. Dr. Viens was great at assessing the situation and discussing my options, both surgical and non-surgical. My physical therapist says I had a complicated surgery, however, it went very well. I can't imagine having trusted anyone else with this situation. Dr. Viens has always been very compassionate and patiently answered all the questions I have had at every visit. I appreciate his conservative approach... read more

Very confident, knowledgeable, detailed, thorough and professional! I am a 47 yr old, very active female. I thought I would have to live with my ankle pain the rest of my life until I had a visit with Dr. Viens. Once he shared with me his plan, which was to reconstruct my ankle, repair the ligaments & tendons and basically give me a new ankle, I was so excited! I am way too active to allow my ankle to cripple me the rest of my life. 4 weeks post op and feel like a million bucks. I am tremendously grateful. Dr. Viens not only... read more

Dr. Viens was not only highly skilled and confident, he was always friendly and took time to answer my questions. I had many broken bones in my ankle, yet he was always optimistic about my outcome, and he delivered. My PT, Diana Frank, with the same practice, was also wonderful. I can recommend both of them highly.

Dr. Viens is an amazing surgeon! He reconstructed the lateral ligaments on both of my ankles and cleaned up scar tissue. He also gave realistic expectations for recovery which I was able to exceed beyond what I thought was reasonable in the time frame. My only advice for future patients is to come ready with questions. Dr. Viens has a lot of patients so he sometimes wants to get out of the room quickly. I think this is an issue with the office over scheduling though.

What can I say about Dr. Veins. I was crippled from ankle arthritis and he preformed a total ankle. Before I had the surgery he told me what would happen the first year and he was spot on. He clearly explained the risks and rewards of this type of surgery. He is a kind and truly caring doctor, he speaks to you like an old friend, not just another patient. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Viens along with his wonderful staff. I truly appreciate what he did for me and I am walking perfectly.
