I used to really like this place, and to an extent I really still do, but I do have to say a couple things start to annoy you if you go there every time for your oil change. 1. It's an oil change, not brain surgery. The way these goes shout at each other while changing your oil is almost like they're in boot camp. I had my oil changed at Oil Stop in Petaluma and was left feeling bombarded with unnecessary service request. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a bad thing if your car legitimately needs the transmission, rear end, power steering, radiator fluids changed. In my case I had the transmission and rear end fluids changed at another Oil Stop six months prior and the technicians where suggesting that I do it again, when I told them about this they told me that their computers can't share records with that other location. Beware!! this facility makes a crucial change when they do your oil change. With out your knowing they change your drain plug so that you can only go back to them to have this service done. This happened to me and no one would touch it. Not only that but the last time I had a service they left my oil filter loose. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE
I use oil stop every change and think they are great. They are extremely polite, but I think they are beaten over the head with servant leadership literature, and all of their documents say that they will serve you humbly, with a servant's heart - aside from the hegemonic ideology, they are the best. And, the free car wash is a great savings!
I am writing specifically because I have to disagree with Lauren's review to a point. Yes, they are friendly, quick and inexpensive if you get out with only an oil change but that is where we disagree. When I go into the Petaluma facility, I can get out with just the oil change but when the wife goes in by herself, they hit her with all types of extras despite the fact they have records on our car and know they performed the same service or offered the same extra product at the last service. I must admit I am generally skeptical when it comes to car service - I always feel like I'm about to get ripped off or coaxed into some unnecessary expense. However, I've had my last 2 oil changes done at Oil Stop (first in Santa Rosa, then Petaluma) and I am impressed. I really appreciated that the employees were so polite, knowledgeable, and never trying to sell me what I didn't need.
