Bro just take care of yourself. This place will ruin your mental health and make it worse than it already is. If you go to a hospital never ever say you're suicidal or want to hurt yourself or anything, you will be sent to the hellhole that this place is. Just lie. Do everything you can to prevent yourself from being baker acted and being sent to this place. They will keep you as long as they physically can. I was admitted on a Wednesday and they lied to me 3 people said discharge will be Monday and when Monday came they act... read more
Well....update may be needed. It seems that things may be worse than 4 years ago. I am sorry to hear that some of the staff seem like act like there is a stigma with mental health conditions. There should not be. That is sad. But, do remember that many of these people are there and do not want to be there. I am sure those reviews will be posted. Many of the elderly will not give a review, but perhaps their family may. Back in 2020, there were doctors & nurses who cared about the patients. I personally know. I do h... read more
I self-referred to a Sarasota Hospital under the Baker Act and was transferred here due to lack of local beds because of depression. They kept me for 8 days, with no individual help except for 15 minutes with a psychiatrist, who prescribed meds which did not help. I had one meeting with a social worker, and a few brief encounters with nurses. The only truly good people there were some of the techs and the art therapist Angela, who truly cared about the patients. All but one of the other patients had very serious dementia is... read more
I had the unfortunate luck of being stuck in this hell hole for 6 days omg what a joke .... It was awful where do I even begin ?
A terrible facility by all means. They are keeping a family member of mine there against their will and an Attorney just got involved. A few of the employees, who are work there, will take out their own personal problems on you. They know they can't be sued, so they have their way with you. One such individual who goes by "Q"....an African American male, has been "riding" my family member each day. They refuse patients their required medication prescribed by outside physicians, even though they have the full list from the lo... read more
This place is horrible. No stars. I was a voluntary patient and held against my will until they got a full seven days of payout from my insurance company. The staff is miserable. The food is awful. And what's up with the wrist monitors? Bad, bad place. Go to Salus care instead. Wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. It's just a small step down from jail.
Care is lacking if any. Patients are ignored and mental health needs are not taken care of. Drugs are administered and patients are left alone until their insurance providers no longer cover.
You can't get any info on your loved one ..You barely get a call back and if you do they can't answer any of your questions because they don't know .
Some staff are understanding while others are bossy and indifferent. They act like there is some stigma associated with mental health. Each person is an individual. There is no cookie cutter solution to one's needs. There are no 24 hr Psychiatrist in the intake department. You do not see a Psychiatrist right away and they do not prioritize the new admissions
