The loan officer was really friendly and very good at orchestrating me through the loan process. It went smoothly and was really fast
Someone on the team chose an appraiser from 200 miles away from our home despite the fact that my home town is bigger and has many suitable appraisers. This resulted in a charge for the appraisal almost 500% higher than the norm. There was a long delay in closing because no one was taking responsibility for what was clearly an error. After a long delay PennyMac absorbed the charge but as a result I was not able to refinance a larger amount because interest rates had changed. Fast and very accurate time frame!
Excellent and expedient service.
Better communications and expectations setting. I had to keep calling back to find out when closing would be and received different answers every time i call about how much i would need to bring to closing as well as if it had to be a certified check or not. I would never use Penny Mac for another loan, only used them this time as I thought since we were a current customer the experience would be easier, but this was not the case.
