I first went to Pet Samaritan in 1993 and they have helped me with three pets with generally good experiences. What a disappointed on my return visit. I was expecting to see old friends and instead I was treated by a hostile front desk person who seemed less than interested in either my pet or my business. As I have spoken to others, I understand that this is not unusual. It pains me to say that a business I have trusted so much in the past is now both over priced and out of touch. Dr. Erickson may be great, but the rest- fr... read more
THE WORST EXPERIENCE. This was a few years ago, although I doubt things have changed. My 7-year-old kitty was diagnosed as diabetic. Can't remember the tech's name but he was a short little dude with glasses with a smarmy personality who gave me a lecture on my first visit about how if I touched my cat during care (I was just petting her, and NO I was not trying to "handle" her during procedures) and was injured they would get sued, etc. The vet who saw her the first time was a pretty nice guy (I think it was Voorhees...h... read more
I thought this place was just OK. I was a little annoyed because I read about all of the vets on their website then ended up seeing a different one entirely. Then, my follow up was scheduled with yet another vet. I don't like that. The office is clean, but looks a little old fashioned. I thought the care was pretty decent, but I also spent $400 (2 dogs) for an office visit and a few tests which I thought was a little hefty. So, I'm neither recommending it nor discouraging going there. Just don't expect anything great,... read more
I'm PISSED. This was my WORST business experience since coming to Portland over a year and a half ago. There is so much wrong with this vet that I don't know where to begin. Well, let's start with the interior. In the lobby there is a door completely smothered with colors and letters telling you you can win a cash prize by referring friends. Seems to me, if they want to refer you, they will, and if they refer you just for money, that's not right. On my first visit, an exam for my two new lop-eared bunnies, I was early bu... read more
Avoid. I made an appointment for a Saturday morning at 9:15 to haver our little puppy examined and vaccinated. My wife and I got up at least 1 1/2 hours earlier than we normally would on a Saturday in order to make it to the appointment. When we got to the clinic, we were told I had never made an appointment. The head receptionist, who reminded me greatly of Nurse Diesel in "High Anxiety", was rather rude and mentioned that people who had not been there before are not entered into the appointment calendar but into some s... read more
