My previous Polaris pump lasted less than 4 yrs.
Only because you can't give 0 starts. Worst PIECE OF $H!T pump...EVER!!! We've bought 2 in the past 2 years and both have failed on the front side. The plastic housing has cracked on both. We have a heated pool and live in Texas so there is not reason for them to have failed other than poor quality! We will never buy another POLARIS product again. EVER!!!
Motor broke in less than 2 years - leaked water for days. Out of warranty and needing to purchase new unit out of pocket. Not exactly reliable machinery.

My pool person purchased & installed it and as far as I know everything is working fine.
The body housing is weak and breaking easily
Our Polaris PB4SQ booster pump was installed in September 2018 and it has become so loud (90 db) that we can't run it.
POS. Pump body. Body won’t last a year with out the plastic splitting leaking water everywhere. No parts for the body. JUNK
I purchased a PB4SQ pump from our Leslie's pool store. You would think that if a pump is available from a very large retail chain such as Leslie's (as opposed to only thru authorized installers), it is meant to be purchased and installed by ordinary people. News flash: Polaris gladly takes your money at the retail shop but does not give you any warranty if you install it yourself. One year and a month after I purchased the pump, it broke.
