Motor broke in less than 2 years - leaked water for days. Out of warranty and needing to purchase new unit out of pocket. Not exactly reliable machinery.

Our Polaris PB4SQ booster pump was installed in September 2018 and it has become so loud (90 db) that we can't run it.

I purchased a PB4SQ pump from our Leslie's pool store. You would think that if a pump is available from a very large retail chain such as Leslie's (as opposed to only thru authorized installers), it is meant to be purchased and installed by ordinary people. News flash: Polaris gladly takes your money at the retail shop but does not give you any warranty if you install it yourself. One year and a month after I purchased the pump, it broke. The front housing breaks after a year of use. Lots of reports of this. The part to replace it is minimum $100 and is currently on back order. Stay far away from this pump.

I love how it works. It really cleans my pool well. The problem is it appears to have cracked where the 4 bolts are. I googled it and there are videos of people having the same problems. It’s only a year old.
