Good printer for the price It is a good printer but it took me a while to find out how to stop wasting tape/labels when printing small things. When you hit print make sure to Enable "Cut Mark" and then it will bunch up the labels as close together as possible. There will still be excess at the beginning of the label but not at the end. If your label is 1" long just print three or more at the same time and use "Cut Mark" in the option after you hit the print button. This will make it much more efficient. Also I found a power ... read more

Good printer, if you have realistic expectations Several years ago, I purchased one of the (then) more deluxe models of PT printers - a PT-2610 - specifically because it had the USB printing option. I still have it and use it regularly, and from the outset have not used the keyboard interface. A while back, I saw that there were USB-only devices, which cut the cost and space requirements. Recently, I had an opportunity to get another, so I got TWO of these PT-1230PC units - I don't need the keyboard, display or auto-cut feat... read more

Great little label printer This printer is great, don't have to load software, portable. I is much easier to type-in the label info on a computer than on one of those hand-held devices. I have two gave on away as a gift.

GREAT PRODUCT GREAT PRICE This is a great product for those of us who like to believe that this will help us organize our life. I paid $12 at Amazon but have seen it retail for as much as $50 at the Staples of the world. Wait for the price drop on Amazon it fluctuates wildly. Simple and easy to use, wont pay extra for the automatic cutter. it also does graphics and has the software built in, great for net books where there is usually no optical drive. Look out for the price of the cartridges, that is where they will try to g... read more

Connected label maker Easy to set up and fairly easy to use. The computer interface takes a little getting used to and it seems like it takes a couple more steps than necessary, but overall I like this a lot.

Very nice label printer I have bought 2 of these units and love them. I've seen a few people complain that they could not register to download the software from Brother's site. That's because they didn't open the unit and find the serial number under where the label cart. goes. I was able to download the extra software and it runs fine with the unit. Even the included software is pretty nice. One thing I love is that there is no install needed for the basic software. The printer acts as a flash drive with the application emb... read more

Great label maker - if you know how to get the correct software I needed an inexpensive label maker and found this at Staples ($19.95 on sale). At first I was a bit irked by the apparent problems with the software (which automatically installs when you plug the label maker into a USB port on your computer) and this is where, I suspect, that others have had some problems. Brother did something very stupid with the software that is pre-installed on this device - they didn't bother to add an "update" feature. As a result, many ... read more

Decent, but not supported on MacOS This label maker worked good for what I was using it for...until I bought a new computer. Bought a MacBook Pro and found out this is not compatible with MacOS. What kind of product is not compatible with Mac?!? This one is!

Would not recommend. Our printer barely lasted 6 months. You either need to buy a DC power adapter or invest in a battery factory, because it will use tons of batteries. Construction felt cheap. Not pleased.
