We ordered a ton of food because we were hungry. It was all spectacular. Portions are not too big. Good was very flavorful. Great waitstaff even if the waiter rushed us to order. I think he did it to benefit us because he knew how things flow when the restaurant gets full ---- and it got packed as we say there.

I come back to the redeye, again and again. The food is great. Their desserts, outrageous. I always have a marvelous waitperson. this evening I had a great piece of halibut. The salad was good and everyone else enjoyed their mains as well (crab cake, salmon and sushi). My one complaint this evening, for which I docked them a star was the presentation of the warm cookie at the end of the evening. I love this in this restaurant, They walk around with the cookie sheet right from the oven. On this evening, however, the server wa... read more

While the food is a bit pricey, the place is elegant and the food is superb. Staff was accomodating. We were early for our reservation and were comfortably seated in the lounge area. However, the champagne brunch was not champagne - it was sparkling wine. We were going to have the 1 lb lobster and eggs for brunch as this was shown on the restaurant website; but when we got the menu, it now became a 2 lb lobster and obviously much more expensive. The on line site should change to reflect this. We were not rushed to get out an... read more

The food is consistently well prepared and presented at this mainstay New York fish restaurant. This week was no exception. I come here often for both lunch and dinner. The service is always outstanding. Unfortunately, it was not on this particular lunch day. It won't stop me from going back.

Great for a business/social luncheon. I always ask for the small room on the right on entrance. Oysters are my standby. Their miso matzo ball soup is terrific. My colleague had that. I had the great new England clam chowder. Salads are among the best.

I have been coming to this restaurant for years, and it never disappoints. The food and service are always spot on. The fish is fresh, well prepared and well presented. I usually get the pepper encrusted tuna. It is perfection. The brussel sprouts are excellent as a side dish.

Red Eye Grill is in a great location with large windows to look out to all of NYC....you know you are in New York. The service was great. The room is large and inviting and the noise level is such that having a good conversation is possible. It's got a lot going for it but my Caesar Salad was boring......some of what we ordered was good and some was not so good. AND, for me, the prices did not justify the quality.....for that reason I would not frequent this location. However, I would recommend, on occasion.

lunch was really terrific...the quality of the food is fantastic...staff was super attentive and knowledgable about their menu....was really pricey for lunch for two people $158...Yikes...would not go again for lunch unless someone was taking me but it was a birthday celebration. The sushi lollipops were terrific. The New England Clam chowder was good though i wouldn't call it a clam chowder...its more of a potato bacon soup...which was good...clams were lost in there as bacon will pretty much over power anything...calamari ... read more

Chose this place based on proximity to the NY City Center. Beautiful new renovated setting and very nice staff including a warm greeting by the maitre d upon arrival. Very seasoned older crowd. Delicious seafood but extremely expensive. Be prepared. $300 for shared seafood appetizer, bottle of wine , 2 entrees, one dessert ( The INCREDIBLE banana cream pie) and coffee. Guess shouldn't have been surprised considering the neighborhood, near Central Park West and Carnegie Hall. But would have to be a very special occasion to re... read more
