If the food you crave is on the menu, just go. The noise level is vibrant, so don't expect a quiet evening out. The wait staff is attentive, but they aren't overbearing. The real treat is the food. The wide variety of raw oysters were fresh, tender, tasty and served with appropriate seasoning choices. My wife tells me that was the best crab cake she ever had, and we lived on Maryland's eastern shore for 5 years. And the dry aged prime ribeye that I had was the best ribeye I've ever had. I've been to Red Eye many times. I always enjoy the food, cocktails and service. On this last visit, it seems they've gotten a little too expensive. Main course items seem to average $30, so beef for two at $69 seemed reasonable. I guess we didn't read the fine print, it was $69 per person! The meal was great. It came with marrow bones, salad, and fries. The service was very good too. We were just surprised by the prices.

Dined there pre-theater (matinee) on a Sunday for brunch. Something happened with the kitchen and it took over an hour for our food to come (and we were consequently late for the show). However, management was very professional in doing what they could to rectify the situation and I was satisfied with how they handled it. That being said, the food was good (once it came although we had to inhale it due to lack of time), location couldn't be better for Carnegie Hall, and ambience is quite nice. It is not inexpensive.

This is a very convenient location for a very fine restaurant with Carnegie across the street and Times Square not too far off. Very fine menu, excellent wait staff, attentive without smothering, and just well timed. It's important not to feel rushed, and that's what this is a very fine dining experience for intimate to professional occasions.

I visited this restaurant by second time...the restaurant has wonderful fillet minion and wonderful friendly services. I would love to return there many times.

I am always amazed at the friendliness and quality of this wonderful grill. The menu is fresh, printed daily. Staff is professional and warm. Food is consistently wonderful.

2nd time there - all was delicious. Wines were a bit pricey - didn't live up to the per glass price; however, food was excellent.

We have dined at the Redeye on multiple occasions and meals -- lunch, dinner, lat night -- and find it to be a gem. The menu is diverse and everything we've had has been wonderful.
