We've eaten at the Redeye before -- enjoyed it quite a bit and decided to try it again ahead of a concert across the street (literally) at Carnegie Hall. The food and service were terrific -- fresh seafood, well prepared, lovely desserts. All six in our group really enjoyed themselves. Food and service were great. My friend and I had an early dinner and the scallops were to die for !!
I come here regularly on business, and have never been disappointed. The menu is pretty extensive (from steak, to sushi, and how about a foot long hot dog!), and everything is fresh and always made right. They also have bread service, which is a nice touch, and a sweet on the way out. This is particularly good place fir seafood lovers.
Tables are so close together it would be easier to talk to the strangers next to you than the person you came with who's sitting across from you. We told the servers when we were seated that we had Carneie Hall show tickets but the food came so late, we had to have it packed to go. As apology, our server brought us two glasses of champagne! we'd already paid the bill and were rushing out! Kind of a bogus apology ...
We liked the expanded menu and as in the past, food and service were excellent. The Cafe is a quiet gem, away from the hustle and bustle of the main dining room.
Food was good, if you are on an expense account!

Had a lovely Sunday brunch there. They were very accommodating at getting us out for theatre. The complimentary glass of champagne was very nice. The food is always consistently good!
