We unforunately were seated in a "party room" type location that was quite boring. We lost the feel for the dining experience of what was a vibrant crowd/place.
During this visit we strayed from the classic fish menus and were disappointed. The NY strip was beatifully cooked but was tasteless. We also ordered the fish & sushimi platter and the clams were horrible, however the salmon tartar was excellent. We'll go back because of the atmosphere.
Very expensive for 4 people, over $350.00 dollars without drinks.
The Red Eye sports a clear-eyed, friendly staff, good food and a festive allure. And, if you are a Friend of Carnegie Hall or the NY City Center, they throw in the Prosecco, thus increasing the bubble factor.
I usually come here for brunch before afternoon concerts at Carnegie, and am never disappointed. Prices are a little more than one might pay elsewhere, but that said, the food is good and the atmosphere is very pleasant.

Service is outstanding. We had performers at our table for a Carnegie Hall concert that night, and they were very gracious about accommodating the varied needs/time to get food to our table. The ever-changing number of people at our table did not phase the waiter one bit. Expensive - but worth it, as food was also outstanding.
I havent been here for about 7 or more years, since I dont live in New York. The ambiance is nice, tables are not too close together and service is very good. Food is excellent- my burger was outstanding. Salads for the others were prepared according to their unusual requirementss and were reportedly good too.
Great ambience. Overpriced menu. Gets way too loud when the band starts playing around 6pm.
