The food was good; the 'coming around w a tray of just baked cookies after lunch' was sweet; and the service was wonderful. But $34 for a cobb salad? Really?
Service was good, ambiance busy. I had fish and chips. Batter on fish soggy, not crispy, chips fair. Calamari okay, nothing special.
I have eaten at Redeye many times and have never been disappointed until this time. Our waitress did not seem to know what she was doing. Two of us ordered steak and eggs. I asked her if she wanted to know how I wanted my steak cooked. She said it was a skirt steak so it didn't matter. Luckily I still said medium rare becasue it was a strip steak not a skirt steak and it was still overcooked. I should have sent it back. Wonderful dining experience. Miss the great mural that used to dominate the back wall! But, the quality of the food and attention to detail is still of the highest caliber. There was even live jazz to add to the atmosphere Sunday night.
Much improved since our last visit and the renovation is spectacular -- the cavernous space is now much warmer, and the bar area is gorgeous.
Great food -- both the grassfed steak and the sushi were excellent.
Great for pre-Carnegie. They always work to get you out in time for the concert.
