We had a window table overlooking 7th Ave.
Nice place for lunch or dinner - great selection of fish and meats as well as sushi and salads. Fish is always fresh and well prepared. Sesame crusted tuna is excellent quality and can be prepared rare. A real treat.
Our dining experience was overall very good. The service was outstanding--waiter was excellent! Homemade cookies were a treat! Our first time there. Would go back again. Would prefer to be seated in a different area. We were all the way in the back. Next time I would like to be in a more scenic area of the restaurant. Didn't get to see all of the murals they are known for.
The host was genuinely warm & welcoming as we walked in. Our server and the coat-check attendee treated us as if we had leprosy or the bubonic plague, yet service was very quick, especially for a busy Saturday night.(perhaps this speed was in order to get us out promptly because as a pair of late twenty somethings, we're 'undesirables' in the eyes of restaurant employees) Despite this lack of hospitality and blatant disrespect on the server and the coat check attendee's part, the food was superb in both taste and execution. ... read more
