The menu/food was fabulous. Atmosphere was great. In so many restaurant, you feel cramped - often eating literally on top of the people next to you. The restaurant, with it's well spaced table and high ceiling, lends to an open, airy, dining experience. Although it was not crowded the night we were there, I doubt if it would be noisy even if filled with diners. I would go back in a heartbeat, and highly recomment it to anyone.
We had better service last time, but we enjoyed the food and the wine. We will go back.
Not a gourmet place, but everything we tasted was expertly prepared, perhaps with a hint of Greek Cuisine. I always thought that the Redeye Grille should be doing a lot better considering the great location, space, quirky decor and pleasant bar. Perhaps using the front room on the side as a piano bar (with a quality grand piano, please! We are across the street from Carnegie Hall) would make it nearly as vibrant as the 40's bar scene that is pictured in one of their giant paintings.

The staff was so welcoming and personable. I'd go back just for them. The food was amazing, too, though. Perfectly cooked and perfect portions, my date and I had a lovely time!
Red Eye is always great- I have been there for a business lunch or met friends there as a central location for dinner. There is a great lunch crowd there- mostly business, but since it is so close to Times Sqare for dinner I noticed a few more out-of-towners around. The food is fantastic! Sea Food seems to be their specialty and their guacamole is really, suprisingly tasty! Try the Calamari- it is lightly breaded, cooked to the perfect texture and delicious with only a lemon garnish!
Really enjoyed the food and the Prix-Fix menu was just the right for the price!!!
The food was excellent and loved the little touches, like bringing little bisquits around to sample before our meal to try and then the chocolate chip cookies after the meal. They were just the sort of thing that left me with a great impression of the service and the restaurant.
We were repeat customers of Red Eye Grill. We particularly enjoy their tier Seafood starter. We noticed they no longer had the three tier on the menu, but when we asked, they graciously offer to do one for us. That three tiered starter, clams, oysters, shrimp, crab, mussels and lobsters and some wine was an elegant and romantice dinner before theatre. Yum! We make it a must stop when we come to New York each year.
