Buona location ma cibo mediocre, servizio disattento.
Outside dining. Sticky substance on table. Maitre D cleaned off. Restaurant week menu: Shrimp cocktail- 2 shrimp! Branzino tasteless Dessert: Wrong order brought to table Service very slow. Perhaps understaffed on a Sunday night.
We arrived at noon. at 12:54 we still had not received our meals. There was a special order. When it was received, was incorrect. When it came back, was not correct. We had to continually ask wait staff passing by for water, salt and pepper, and ended up having our desserts to go. Large parties were served and exited before we were. This was not my first visit, however, would not go again.
The wait staff seemed disengaged, but the manager on duty was very good and and went out of his way to check in on the tables. We had to wait a very long time to get the bill and I even had my wallet on the table to signal that I was ready to leave. The wait staff spoke to each-other at length in Spanish- it felt like they were upset and it impacted the ambience of our dinner.
We had a reservation for 2 for noon, and had been asked to confirm it the week before, the day before. and twice that morning, which I did. We arrived at the restaurant at 11:55 am ( sign on door said it opens at 11:45) and entered only to be told that they were not open yet, as they were not set up yet , and were told to leave, as they were not allowed to have customers there before they were set up. There was NO apology for making us go back outside, and no indication as to how long it would take for them to be ready to op... read more
It would have been all excellent, except no one came to our table to ask for a drink order or food order for 20 minutes after our full party had arrived. And half of us were there for 30 min before that. And it wasn’t busy. But after we pointed out the lack of service, they were very apologetic and offered complimentary drink or dessert.
Went for Valentine's and I feel like it was a bait and switch....So i paid $150 per person plus tax gratuity and drinks for "premium seating to see the band and the "show". We were sat behind a pillar were one oif us had to look out the window to the street and the other had to look at the pillar.... No view of the band and "show". I told the manager and asked to be moved. The manager moved us a little close but still there was another pillar in front of me closer to the stage so i couldn't see, but my girlfriend could. I had been here previously the food is good however this trip it was not quite as good - we have gone for the live music - it was just okay this visit the singer took more breaks than he actually sang.
Second visit to the Red Eye Grill. Great location! Food and cocktails are very good and within acceptable NYC prices. But please do not order the Dancing Shrimp… aside from the “wow” presentation, they should dance right off the menu and out the door. Absolute waste of money!
