The restaurant did not prepare for our part of seven. They seemed surprised and after some scrambling put us in the lounge on a couch with small tables put together. Appetizer portions were quite small so it’s necessary to order multiple of each thing for the table for a larger party. Even the loaf of garlic bread is about the size of a large hamburger bun so 2 or more are necessary for the table. Do not order the fish tacos, everything else I've had here is good.
The food was excellent, but the service was quite lacking. Very slow and very slow. The server was very pleasant, but we lost him for many unexpectable minutes a number of times.
Typical New York ambience, food was very good but the service was lacking. Felt like an after thought at times and interaction with wait staff minimal.
Very impolite hostess. Had an attitude and not accommodating at all.
The dining room is very dark. We asked for more light but nothing changed. I asked for ketchup for my steak but never received ketchup. The poor service is not what I expected from this restaurant so the evening was a big disappointment.
We received a delightful welcome when we checked in for our reservation and were immediately seated. The experience went downhill from there. Service was sporadic and we had an unexpected change of server after waiting a looooong time before being told that the original server (who kept walking by and ignoring us) would not be helping us. Once we finally put in our order, the food took a very long time and when it arrived there were mistakes (e.g., the cheeseburger came with no cheese!) and it was hardly worth the long wait.... read more
Slow service without follow up. Clams in chowder were tough, some sandy, inedible. The salmon was dry, not pink as ordered. Coffee was cold and overly bitter, obviously not fresh. Restaurant would benefit taking lead from next door sister, Trattoria Del Arte, that is always excellent. Will not return to Redeye Grill.
Average restaurant with interesting art. Server was fine but not engaging.
