we were lied to, told we were getting one rate but agent failed to lock in rate, we ended up having to buy rate down and still more than originally quoted. we were told it would appear on our statement of 1/21 which it didn't and by then to much time invested to cancel and get another lender.

Renu was great, and followed through quickly with responses made to her. However, there was more closing confusion than we expected. First because the loan did not close December 15th as expected, we made a final December payment on the loan, which should have increased our home equity by at least $800+ resulting in a lower payoff for PenFed. There’s many reasons why my experience was unpleasant. I was told that closing wouldn’t get pushed back and that everyone has what they needed. Another reason my experience was unpleasant is that I never received phone calls or emails back in a timely manner. The house buying experience has been everything but smooth, and put a bad taste in my mouth about ever buying a house again.
