Dr Rutherford is personable, pleasant and professional. He took the time to listen to my concerns and reassured me that it will be ok.

Dr. Rutherford was very clear and direct in explaining what to expect from my knee replacement. I appreciated the fact he didn’t attempt to sugarcoat it. That’s not to say he wasn’t extremely kind and empathetic. He is both compassionate and professional, and I left his office with the assurance I had found an exceptional orthopedic surgeon.
Dr Rutherford is a master in his profession. Very thorough in his diagnosis. He is a very pleasant doctor who takes time to listen.
Dr. Rutherford gave wonderful pre-surgery support, carefully explaining the procedure and outcomes. He was a great listener, and instilled calm and confidence. His surgical skills were outstanding, especially in closing the incision and leaving only a very minimal scar. I am very happy with my knee replacement, and will absolutely choose Dr. Rutherford for my other knee in the future. I was also impressed by the quality of care by the clinical staff, the NC Specialty Hospital team, and the post-surgery PT program and staff.
Dr. Rutherford has been treating my mom for 5 years. He is always so sweet and humble. Answers all the questions and always offers to go above and beyond to accomodate.

Dr. Rutherford is an awesome doctor. He made me feel comfortable from the first visit. I had minimal pain after the surgery and my knee is great one year post surgery. I’d recommend him for anyone needing knee surgery.
dr rutherford did an awesome job on my left hip replacement. before surgery i could not even change positions or roll over in bed. right after surgery. same day. the hip pain was gone! miraculous!! needed no pain meds the next day. recovery was a breeze! dr rutherford did an excellent job. most skilled surgeon! he is most professional and courteous. answers all your questions. he will be doing my right hip as it is coming due. highly recommended.
