I return to this restaurant time and time again for a most pleasurable dining experience. The service is always friendly, enthusiastic, attentive and helpful. The decor is charming. The Braciola di Maiale (grilled pork loin chop with sauteed oyster mushrooms, Parmigiana potatoes and Marsala wine sauce) is DELICIOUS! I look forward to my next visit.
This is one of our favorite restaurants--even though we live in Vernon Hills, IL which is around 70 miles south in Illinois. When ever we are in the Milwaukee area we eat there. The food is always good and the roasted garlic which came with the bread was wonderful. We didn't get any of the garlic specials--but it was because something on the regular menu looked so good--but believe me it was a hard choice to make. Sure wish there was a Bartolatta restaurant in the northern suburbs of Chicago--we'd probably be there weekly.
Great fresh, authentic italian finds in a warm, neighborhood setting. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. The Polletto al Mattone is to die for. Well worth the money.
Wow! What a great find, we really enjoyed our experience.
Great food in a small NY type Italian restaurant setting
Excellent overall.
Joe Bartolotta's success is evident in this wonderful Italian restaurant. The decor is pleasing and the old photos fascinating history. The chef prepares food that is a culinary delight. The food visually is a work of art and the taste is incredible. The risotto with Heirloom tomatoes was "to die for." The Tiramisu is perfect for those appreciating desert. On Mondays and Tuesdays Ristorante Bartolotta offers half-price bottles of wine for wine priced at $100. a bottle and less. So, not only do their guests have a wonderful f... read more
The food was fabulous, as befits a Bartolotta restaurant. We were somewhat disappointed by the small size of the restaurant. We felt physically crowded. Also, the noise level was greater than what we would like. Perhaps we had unrealistic expectations. We will certainly return to this restaurant, but at this point I'd say we prefer Lake Park Bistro and Mr. B's.
We had a reservation for six that was changed to seven on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was most accomodating, the meal was enjoyed by everyone, the wine was good and not overpriced, and the service was excellent.
