The lunch portion sizes were a bit small for the price.
This used to be my favorite restaurant. I always order the same thing. My meal has declined drastically over the past year or so. And when it is pointed out to the server, my chicken was very dry or whatever, the only response is, I will inform the chef. There is no apology or what can we do to make it better. I have had the same experience at Mr Bs in Mequon. No apology, no attempt to make the experience better. Made a reservation for 8 pm and was not seated until 8:40! Several parties arrive after us and were seated well before us.
The food was just okay I expected more from a bartolotta's restaurant. I was expecting the food to be delicious and it really was just average. I was with a party of four and everyone felt the same way when we left.
My wife and I are originally from the Milwaukee area and get back to town only a few times a year. However we are typically in the area during our wedding anniversary and so have developed a tradition of celebrating our anniversary at Ristorante Bartolotta - going on 5 years in a row! The service and food were great. However, the portions were smaller than our favorite: Lake Park Bistro. With smaller portions, the value dropped considerably.
Use to love this place. Had an issue with hair in our food which wasn’t handled very well - ie. It was taken away and left on the bill. Very disappointing.

This restaurant is a total joke. They advertise about putting truffles on top of your meal for $45. They shave the truffle so thin it had no flavor or texture. The other major mistake was cooking the calamari to a point a table saw would be needed to chew it
