The service for some reason was quite poor. This was a busy lunch but we had 2 servers and they didn’t take our drink order for quite some time and then they didn’t come back for our food order. They did allow us to use my birthday coupon and the half off bottles of wine deal together. Food was good but pricey for lunch.
I typically do not write reviews, but I felt this one was necessary. We’ve always been a fan of Bartolotta restaurants. We moved out of state for a few years and recently moved back. We decided to go to Ristorante Bartolotta for a date night. Disappointment pretty much sums up the experience. My husband ordered a pasta dish with peas and I ordered the gnocchi. Our order got mixed up in the kitchen and so we waited a long time. We were there 2 1/2 hours.
For an Italian restaurant, the pasta was flavorless and tacky. Of our party of 8, 4 of us had pasta with a similar experience and frankly for the price we expected a stellar meal. The Caesar salad was fabulous and the highlight of the meal.
We have been dining here for years and always have an incredible dining experience. This trip (like I said previous trips have been GREAT) was somewhat of a disappointment from a food perspective. Both my husband and I were not as impressed with our appetizer and main course as we always have been. The value for the money just wasn’t there. Celebrating a personal accomplishment- waiters were inattentive. Drinks were not made correctly
Wasn’t a big fan of telling us at the end that the truffles on top of our pasta was $45 per person on top of the cost of our meals.
Food was average at best, yet the prices were not. I used to love this place, but they have cut so many corners to increase their profit margins. Terribly disappointed. Place is now over-rated. What a shame.
Our last several visits have been disappointing. I've always loved this restaurant but the service has been disappointing, to say the least, on our recent visits. It appears to be understaffed as far as wait staff and the bar. You should not have to wait 15-20 minutes for a glass of wine. This visit was our worst.
