The food was just ok. It seems the more I go to Bartolotta restaurants the food gets more and more average and the portions less and less. I have reached the point that I am seriously considering not coming back to what was once a wonderful dining experience. No longer is that the case.
Was slightly disappointed. Have been there before and the food was outstanding.Maybe they were concentrating on the white truffle specials and neglected their regular menu... I don't know. Something was not the Bartalotta experience we are accustomed too. As far as recommendations go, I would say try the lunch before dinner.
The food was great and wine list a bit expensive but the coffee was seriously bad. Even after we tried having a second pot made we determined it was the blend they were using.
It's Bartolotta's, so it's bound to be good; however, I do feel that there are many new restaurants in the Milwaukee area that serve high quality food at a price that is less expensive then Bartolotta's. I found it interesting that there were open tables at 7:00 PM on a Saturday night. I've been to this restaurant several times over the years, and given the many other wonderful and less expensive dining experiences in the area, I don't think I'll be back anytime soon.
The tables were quite close together and made for awkward moments when getting up from the table or when someone came or went from the table next to ours. The seats of the charis were not comfortable (and I am not a big person by any means). The booth seat was fine.
Too expensive. The food was very disappointing.
Having dined at every other Bartolotta Restaurant previously, we expected Ristorante Bartolotta to be great. It fell far short of our expectations. The menu selection is very limited, seating is cramped, the prices are out of line with the Milwaukee market, and the food is only slightly above average. If you'd prefer to pay half as much for a better plate of pasta, try Il Mito on 69th & North instead of Ristorante Bartolotta.
Drinks were good. Food was vey overpriced. Taste didn't live up to the price at all. The meat that the wife ordered was dry. My lobster was overdone (rubbery). the ambience was good, but the food left a lot to be desired. I could've ate at Eddie Martini's for the same price.
Waited over 45 minutes from scheduled reservation to be seated. Was told they would get us started with a drink due to the wait an they then added this to our dinner bill! They made it sound like the restaurant was compensating us. The food is good but service slow, expensive and crowded dining. Will not go back.
