I was very nervous bringing my cat, Bender, in when he was not eating and lethargic. He rarely leaves the apt and I dreaded the ordeal. This animal hospital made the process extremely easy and low stress. I found them very caring and attentive. One thing I really liked about the doctor is she gave me options on treatment and was honest about cost, so I could scale to what I could afford, as opposed to simply laying out an expensive treatment plan and handing over an invoice. I have been going here now for almost 4 years. At first, it was a matter of convenience- it's less than 5 minutes from my house. But the care they show for my Ozzy (and me) made it obvious early on that this was a place I could trust. After about a year, my boy started having stomach issues - throwing up after eating, etc; they started him on special food and he has had no issues since. I've been bringing my cats here for years. When my old girl passed away during the night several years ago, I called them right when they opened in the morning to ask about cremation. The girl I spoke with was so kind and concerned. When I arrived with my girl a few minutes later, she was very kind and supportive and summoned a young man from the back to take the body. The vets were awesome. However the receptionist was cold and mean. I put my cat to sleep that I loved for 8 years, and she couldn't care less and she knew what happened. Everywhhere else receptionist is sweet and empathetic. She must not have any pets. She was the coldest and meanest receptioinsit ever!! Very transactional and snotty!! When you work in the vets office you should be sweet and empathetic to peoples pain. The place is very, very expensive!!!

For a few years, I've been saying that I would find a vet closer to my house. When it came down to it, when something serious was going on with my pets, I wanted to take them somewhere familiar that I trusted. Aging pets break your heart. We had to select a boarding hospital for our pets while we spent two days in Chicago! Choosing River Forest was an absolute gem of a decision and we were extremely delighted with all aspects of our pet's stay at River Forest! The staff was really attentive to the needs of our dogs and really cared about them. Fantastic place to board if you have to in the Chicago metro area!

I can't say enough about this vet. We have been here a lot recently, between needing to board our cats, ones recurring illnesses, and needing to spay the newest member of our family. The staff is fantastic. Likely because we've been so often, but they know both of my kitties by name and frequently ask how one is doing when I'm there with the other.
