We two couples have eaten at Saltlik a number of times, pre-theatre. Everything was going OK this time until the servers brought our main courses prior to us having even half-finished our appetizers. The service from there on (the restaurant got busy) went downhill. It became a jumble. We were disappointed.
Sticky toffee pudding is a must!
I've been Saltlik a few times now and it's always been a lovely experience, steak has always been perfect and staff so pleasant. A definite gem on Stephen Ave
It was very enjoyable. However, I am not sure about the waitress asking for our first names so that she could get to know us better. This is the first time this has ever happened to me at a restaurant. The waitress was 20 (if that) and we are in our late 50's. Personally I did not feel comfortable with this new way of addressing guests. Perhaps I am being old fashioned but I will think twice before returning as I don't feel this is appropriate. we both ordered the prawn linguini, but my friend is allergic to tomatoes and the kitchen substituted her order with alfredo sauce. Very nice of them! Both dishes were excellent! it would be nice to have a few more choices on the menu. Service was great! Professionally friendly!
Great restaurant and menu! Enjoyed Saturday evening dinner with family who ordered the special which was filet mignon with lobster mashed potatoes which was incredible. I had Kobe beef fettuccine and it was very good and I recommend trying it. Excellent service, and enough room in between tables where you can enjoy conversation with your group. Good wine list that is not over priced.
Great place to eat especially if you like steak. I was delighted to get my steak made exactly as I had ordered it. Our waiter was fun, friendly and very professional. Not only did he seem happy to be there but had a good understanding of how much to check in with us throughout the meal.
We always enjoy the Saltlik! Both locations Calgary & Banff are equally great. Great food and service! Love the squid starter!
Four of us returned to Saltlik for pre-theatre dinner and drinks. Lucky us it was happy hour! We started with the red and house wine and two different scotch whiskies - all were rated very good. For dinner we had hunter chicken, a wonderful dish with 2 pieces of crispy breast, mashed potatoes and a selection of al dente vegetables; an order of spaghetti and meatballs, was deemed delicious; a rare petite filet with vegetable accompaniments; and a flat iron steak salad.
