Happy with location, ambiance and noise level-we kept business dicussion to the end when things were a bit quieter. Food was both tasty and good but its service was slow, and thus the food was not as hot (in temperature) as I expected. Overall OK, but for the cost, I expected a little more attentive service.

Very enjoyable early evening celebration dinner before running off to a concert. Will definitely go back when we can spend an entire evening absorbing all of the ambiance.
We stopped for a quick dinner before the theater performance. The waitress was very accommodating to our requests and made the dining experience a superb one. The food was tasty and was served quick. Overall very pleased with the restaurant.
A work friend and I both had the feature dinner, 7 oz filet with spicy broccoli and mashed potatoes with lobster meat on top and it was yummy to say the least. The wine was great, the service was very good but I did find the restaurant a bit too noisy as we were having trouble hearing each other across the table.
The few times I've been to saltlik were strictly for work, but this time I took my girlfriend for her birthday. Great service from our primary waitress - I can remember her name but she was taller and had parents in from Saskatchewan for the weekend she mentioned - and good food.
I was taken out for a belated birthday lunch by my father. The service was good with many staff serving the table,but it was abit confusing and hard to get in touch with the waitress, when my food order was messed. I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich with all trimmings, but no bun, with 1/2 fries & salad. Fries arrived cold, replaced with new ones, no coleslaw with trimmings, coleslaw was given. I've eaten here before, Stephan Ave where it is located is the Main area for bars, restaurants but remember you are in western Canada, not Montreal or Toronto...I though the calamari and beef carpaccio were excellent. I ordered the filet, my colleague the Prime rib. We both agreed the steak was ok, but not exceptional. I honestly don't eat steak that often (mostly seafood) and both times I've ordered steak in Calgary I've come away feeling the same...I've not had an exceptional steak experience in Calgary yet which surprises... read more
The side dishes, lobster mashed potatoes, mushrooms were outstanding. The five of us ordered 3 different steak dishes, and the steaks were a 2 out of 10. They were cooked properly, but were sinewy and tough. Very disappointing. The service was great, staff had an excellent sense if humor, the ambiance was great. Unfortunately, I would not recommend the Saltlik to friends who were looking for a great steak.
