Stressful and expensive Our experience with SML was overall not good. Initially our confirmed movers didn’t show up. Thankfully a person at SML found another crew 3 hours later to load our truck. They arrived and loaded it in four hours. This set of movers was good and helpful. Upon arriving at our destination we had two families belongings in the truck. This company is awful Simple Moving Labor made my move so miserable ... they canceled the loading after EVERYTHING - all information - was confirmed. Then they didn't bother to show up to unload in the new city - near their "headquarters. " They are offering NO help. Managers "do not take phone calls" as told to me by a "Service Expert". They charged exorbitant prices for doing nothing. Be forewarned - do not use this company unless you want a miserable move.
Total sham I cannot believe this company is in business. Wonderful service in Austin. Horrible service in Fort Worth. Damaged my furniture, I had paid for the insurance (thank you, Jesus, or so I thought), but when I submitted the claim form and pictures, no response. Four phone calls later, and FINALLY someone called me back, only to be complacent and stated that I would definitely hear back from them within a week, and acknowledged that they received my claim and pictures. I was not satisfied with the two guys that came They hadn't seen each other for some time & they did a lot of talking but not about packing my truck. At times my neighbor said they stood looking into the truck not doing anything but talking. Due to that I had to hire them an extra hour at my expense. Even then they hadn't loaded all that needed to be loaded. The truck was loaded only a little more then half full & we finished the next morning ourselves. Office fine, movers moved at snail's pace The movers were moving very slow causing me to have to pay for additional time. Office staff did a good job!
Awful service My elderly parents hired them to help them move. They had a safe that weighed over five hundred pounds as well as extremely heavy furniture. They booked and confirmed and the guys never showed up. When they called and asked where they were they were informed that they didn’t work on sundays. They couldn’t tell them that during booking and confirmation. Extremely poor service in my opinion.
Poor quality help, damage and no response Used SML on short notice. Labor they sent was tired and used only half of my furniture pads. Results= lots of scratches, dents, etc. Their warranty is $0.60/lb. I filed claim with pics, etc and they continue with the standard BS reply of "due to covid"... I've requested phone calls without reply. It has been 3 1/2 months and I'm still waiting for a human to talk to me. NEVER AGAIN. You shouldn't either.
Loading experience poor/ unload great Loaders were 30 minutes late, first hour only 2 guys, then next 3 hours had 3 guys. No way 2 of the guys were professional movers. Company gave me $25 credit for crew being late and another $15 credit for a hour of a 2 man crew. 4 hours to load our stuff when all boxes were in the garage. It was painful the speed they worked at. Many of the furniture pieces were broken, nicked , or scratched. An entertainment center was broken beyond repair. Our coffee table was scratched and nicked. A sofa table was in multiple pieces. The roll up door in the moving van had to be opened carefully to avoid contents falling out. Amateurs! The sofas were placed in the horizontal position as opposed to the vertical taking up much needed floor space.
