We needed a breeakfast spot for afamily group of nine and Ted's was a gem. Everyone loved their food -- lots of choices -- and our waiter couldn't have been kinder or more accommodating to the young children.
Ted's is a regular spot for many on Capitol Hill, but going there on the weekends is very difficult. They only take reservations Monday-Friday, and the weekends are especially crowded, because it is so good. It's a new take on 50s diner food and ambiance, which is really fun. There are lots of good, old fashioned things like Mac and Cheese and burgers, plus a breakfast menu served all day. Their home-made pastries are fantastic, including their home-made pop tarts and milk shakes. I've regularly visited Ted's since 2010, and... read more
Loved it! Our waitress was outstanding and very helpful about the extensive menu. Everyone at our table of 10 had something different and raved about the quality and taste.
Loved my burger with a fried egg and swiss cheese! Fries were extra crispy and delicious. Everything hit the spot. Next time I'll make sure to save room for a shake!
Some of the best burgers in the city. Great 20's era atmosphere. Adult milkshakes are killer, highly recommend the White Russian. Some of the best country fried steak anywhere. Really great wedge salad. Onion rings are bomb. Homemade ranch dressing has bacon and onions in it, how can you beat that? If you have not been it is worth a visit or three. Unlike anywhere you have ever dined. Breakfast is offered constantly. They have peanut butter bacon poptarts made in house.
great ambiance, food ok, but service was slow. Don't go if you have a time constraint
Food was delicious as always. Service was a little slow but fine. Had to ask the waiter to turn down the music as it was very loud and we could not hear each other across a small table.
Hands down one of my favorite places in DC. Comfortable and home grown feel. The shakes are amazing and the tomato soup/grilled cheese always hits the spot. The best thing on the menu: Peanut Butter Bacon Poptart. I have been at least 20 times in the last 2 years.
We like to have weekend breakfast here when we go to the Eastern Market. Wonderful food and warm, friendly service. A real gem in D.C..
