Good meal at Thai Square St Albans but we were sat in a small room off the main restaurant downstairs which wasnt very comfortable. Loos not particularly clean this time either
I have been to the Thai Square before and was a little disappointed on my second visit. The starters were not great and there was a long wait between the starters and main. The value for money was average. Neither of us were drinking and the bill was £60, quite expensive for 2 courses. The atmosphere was buzzing and would be a better venue for larger groups. I will not be rushing back.
Thai Square - St Albans: the food was great bit a little pricey, meal for 2 with wine came to just under £100.
Thai Square, St Albans offered friendly service, but a bit slow on asking for our drinks order, and then bringing it. After that, things looked up. We went for Valentine's Day - always a test of a restaurant's ability to serve large numbers. We'd be happy to give t another go.
This as my second visit to Thai Square in only 2 weeks. An amazing wood-beamed tudor building is the remarkable venue for this restaurant. The high points this time were lamb cutlets, mixed satay and pad thai - all gorgeous. Each dish is attractively presented and generously served. I'll definitely be back again.
St Albans Thai Square welcomed us warmly & the atmosphere was relaxed & friendly, although one of our party was served cold prawns & her spinach side dish did not arrive, even asking a second time. But overall the staff were very polite & the food was fresh & tasty.Great palce to go with a group or party. Cocktails were very nice although bit pricey..
This was my first visit to Thai Square in St Albans and I will definitely visit again. The food is superb. All the usual Thai favourites are on the menu together with some more exotic variations. The wine list is quite extensive and reasonably priced. The waiting staff are very attentive without being intrusive. This is a perfect venue for a large group, especially the upstairs room.
Thai Sq (St Albans) is certainly a pleasant place to eat with an excellent ambience. The building, a converted pub I believe, has been refurbished into a contemporary resteraunt with beams still exposed. We ate from the set menu, choosing lamb and beef. Both were delicious. The only negatives were a slight question mark over the quality of the lamb and the fact that the ladies toilets lacked sufficient heating. Well worth a visit.
There was a set menu on new year's eve and for the food that we got, it was over priced. I am a frequent Thai Square eater and this is the first time that I was dissatisfied.
