The food was excellent but the service was a bit slow
In all our visits to Thai Square we've always had good food and service. It's at the pricier end of St Albans restaurants but worth it. They've done a great job renovating the place; striking the right balance between keeping the original Tudor features and introducing Thai influences. Great bar too serving cocktails. Am looking forward to sampling the outdoor area soon to be opened.

Having tried Thai Square St Albans in the past on a busy Saturday and been disappointed by the service, I was pleased to enjoy a flawless experience on Monday night. The Black Cod was delicious, the service just right, the atmosphere inviting & relaxing.
Thai Square is in a nice buiding and the food is great. The staff seem like they're new to the job but not too bad. I would definitely go again
Thai Square is a modern take on a beautiful but neglected old tudor tavern, the results both in the decor, service and food very good. There's even a Japanese DJ in a cocktail bar to the side of the restaurant.
Thai Square serves excellent food in a pleasant environment. Service is very good and menu is superb however in comparison to other similar restaurants the prices are considerably higher. I would definately visit again but would only visit on special occasions as price is a little prohibitive.
I had heard a lot of good reviews on Thai Square St Albans. The food did not disappoint. My black cod compared well with the same dish in my favourite restaurants in London. My husband enjoyed his crocodile speciality. Service, however, could be improved. Maybe the staff were new? We had to ask for drinks several times, the wrong order was delivered twice, and the waitresses lacked confidence. Worth trying on a week night next rather than a Saturday I think.
We went to Thai Square on 12th April and were disappointed there were no Songkran celebrations! We had one of the banquet meals which was excellent, but not cheap. I really like the style of the restaurant and it's ambience, but I do think it's overpriced and sadly won't be a regular visitor!
