When the place first opened, I was all over the gym and loved it. However, I have realized that this gym is only really about making money. They continue to change their policies and make amenities with added cost when it used to be part of the total monthly fee. I tried going to down to the $10 membership and they said I had to pay the start-up fee even though I was already a member who had joined even before they opened. Once you get past the 30min hassle finding parking, you're greeted by some less than enthusiastic zombie employees at the desm who don't aknowledge you . Then begins the dream of finding a machine .HAH. We waited 30 mins for a squat rack that was coated in sweat. A cardio cinema with skipping movies. Benches ripped. The Edge was awesome when it first opened and for about a year afterwards. As a member I lost over 30 pounds in 3.5 months by taking their GroupX classes and working out twice a week with one of their trainers. I had a premium membership which costs extra but allowed me to tan and to take the Group classes and Spin. However, lately they've cut WAY back on classes, especially the morning classes that are covered by the premium membership. I signed up for $30 a month and just got charged $51 and was told that I have this surprise fee no one told me about an annual fee of $49 that no one told me about. I want my account cancelled and my money refunded but they won't let me cancel without giving me another fee I can't pay because they already made my account in the negative.

I just checked on BBB they have an F rating!! It explains a lot! I joined Edge in November and because I wanted to use the women's only section. I travel a lot for work and when I returned back I find the women only section locked away and for $20 more a month I can get access. This is ridiculous. Of course I spoke with the manager and was told I could get a month free use of the woman only section and then I would have to pay and extra $20 a month. I've been a member of this fitness club at the Manchester location since 2016. No frills membership. Just want to work out. No classes needed. As of today I cannot utilize the women's area of The Edge unless I change my membership from $10.00 to $30.00 because apparently the women's only section is an "amenity". The men are generally hogging the machines & the free weights in the general area. It's not easy trying to do strength training amongst them. This is one of the worst gyms. They do not follow any ethics while enrolling people. They do not mention about any contract, have us sign in a display tab mentioning it is a waiver but after 5 days, we will receive a contract. If we try to cancel, they will mention that cancellation can be done only before 5 days of enrolling and now, we have to stay in 12 month or 24 month contract. If you want to cancel your membership make sure you do it 30 days before your next months payment. It is utterly ridiculous and unfair that I would have to still pay a "annual fee" if I'm canceling my membership and not going to continue out the year with the gym. I was fine with paying for the last month, I'd just use the gym for the final month and move on with my life.
