ABSOLUTELY STAY AWAY!! They make it so hard to cancel your membership. Almost impossible. You try and cancel and talk to someone in India. This is the worst gym experience. And now I'll get and automated response underneath this review. Then some random response "send us your information and we will help". I've sent 5 emails back and forth.

This review is long overdue. I do NOT recommend signing up for this gym unless you plan to be a lifer and never move out of state or the area- as they make it impossible to cancel the membership. The other reviewers here are telling the absolute truth about Edge Fitness and their shady business practices. I have countless messages from them telling me that I have a balance that they will take out of collections if I rejoin the gym- which I paid for over a year and never seen the inside of it. Was informed that I did not owe anymore money once i shut off the membership for the following year, this was apparently false and sent my account to collections. Upon pointing out this mistake i was told i had to sign up for a new membership to get it out of collections. I hate this gym.

Agree with the reviews that make it impossible to cancel. They say you have to cancel with a manager and the manager is not there. You have to quit your job, and stalk the manager (who may or may not exist?) to cancel. Predatory and this should be illegal.

Will never ever go to edge fitness and would not recommend it to any family and friends.. their contracts are misleading and almost impossible to cancel.. and interesting fact.. Yelp will hide this review as not currently recommended..

Horrible place for anyone Queer and/or LBGTQ+ It doesn't matter what time of day you go, you have all kinds of people from all backgrounds/age groups making the gym experience here not only uncomfortable but highly homophobic. I thought better of Connecticut in general especially it being such a culturally diverse area. It's not an all inclusive space, not to mention the staff engage in the inappropriate conversations with other EDGE members. The pointing, laughing and gossip is very much High school.

I would encourage anyone to go elsewhere. Avoid any of these big gyms, really. I had a great experience going to this gym. They have the workout equipment I needed, clean facilities, and the hours fit my schedule. I moved recently and it didn't make sense to keep my edge membership despite being a happy patron. This facility only thinks of it's members as numbers. So I'm going to start treating the staff as numbers. Also the staff likes sitting on the front counter and either BSing or texting on their phones instead of doing actual work. And the worst part is the management sees it going on and does nothing about it. And guess what since I'm a paying member I have every right to complain.
