My previous review was on the management team that I had been working with since I moved in. I moved out last month and here's why. Between November and March there were two different management teams. During this time, several dissapointing things have happened. The temporary manager, Rashad, was very helpful when I explained I was moving out and he encouraged me to write down a list of why I was deciding to move out. I've copied that list below. I no longer recommend the Marquee to anyone. 1. Unsecure Vehicular Gate. The... read more

Business response:

Hello Emily, Thank you for your feedback. We are working hard as the new management company to make changes to The Marquee and we wanted to apologize to you for the negative experience you had at the community. It is our hope that the residents do not feel this way moving forward. We wish you nothing but the best in your new home. Regards, MG Properties Group

DO NOT MOVE IN HERE! Pros: The (updated) units are great. Spacious, nice, and on par for the price. Cons: The management is a joke (all 3 companies in the year I was there and including the current company that just took over). They are rude, unreliable, cheap, dishonest and lazy. about 80% of the residents who lives here are pretty much loser stoners. and the surrounding neighborhood is unsafe and just plain ghetto. Had the management been better, I would have stayed there for years and years to come, but one year way e... read more

Well as of April the Marquee Apartments are under new management and all I can say is STAY AWAY! They are extremely rude and simply put, very money driven. They do not care about your well being, just your money. Julia is a manager at the property and she is very superficial, and will do anything to get you contracted and take your money. The apartments themselves are as pictured however what pictures do not show is the horrible odor in the hallways and the incredibly loud sound of the traffic from the freeway and Sherma... read more

I was a resident at Marquee for 2 years. I'll start off with the appearance. The renovated apartments are actually decent. Some of the nicest in the area that I've seen ( which isn't really saying much ). Now for the experience. The first year was perfectly fine. The staff was nice and helpful and had no problems with anything in the apartment. As time went on they changed the management again... and again... and again. I'm not even joking, they changed the management / office people at least 5 times. I literally had no ... read more

Lived here for about 7 months and moved as soon as my lease was up. The walls are incredibly thin and the flooring in the hallways must not be installed properly because every time someone walks on it, it sounds like they are walking over a hollow hole in the ground covered by thin sheet metal. You can hear everything that goes on above you or next door. I can hear when my neighbor's phone vibrates from a call. I can hear the TV and can even make out what show they are watching. The person above sounds like they are putting ... read more

We needed a place to live ASAP as my friend and I were both starting jobs here (and away from San Diego) in 2 weeks. We had a limited budget, so that obviously limited our options. We looked at a lot of "dumps" before we found the Marquee...lots of 1970 construction with no upgrades, and in sketchy neighborhoods. When I found the Marquee on Craigslist for the right price, I zoomed over there excitedly and toured the apartment. Basically, this place used to be owned by some other development company, and was purchas... read more
