Brought my cat in because she has a UTI (I know this because she was having these problems earlier this year) I made an appointment and brought her in. I requested fir her to get an x-ray to make sure she has no stones. 2 minutes later they bring her back out telling me she needs to go to the ER. After just feeling her stomach- no running tests or anything. Which they made it seem like something serious. So I went to the ER and like I already expected all the ER gave her was antibiotics and pain medication. Which I could hav... read more

I just called to get a pricing range on what it could cost me to get my dogs teeth cleaned, who is three years old. The person that answered the phone said that every vet here charge some thing different. She said she couldn't even give me a starting price point or a range. Why was I able to call five other vets and get a price range and not here? I understand it's not going to be exact because there's a potential that my dogs teeth could have issues but to not be able to supply a pricing for general teeth cleaning if there'... read more

Dr. Smolik was wonderful! HOWEVER, the vet techs and people who work the front desk are AWFUL!! They are full of BAD attitudes and bad information about the "Thrive Plus Membership". They constantly act like I am an interruption in their day. I have watched them with others and have discussed this with others outside the clinic. The staff act as if this is a real bother and pain to provide information. When you ask them an additional question their first response is I don't know! If you ask them to go find out, their attitud... read more

I scheduled an appointment for my senior English bulldog for shoulder arthritis and had to wait two weeks to get an appointment. At the time of my departure from my home to head to the appointment, the weather changed drastically and started to rain hard. I live 7 mins from the Thrive Oak Forest location but it took a tad bit longer to arrive than anticipated because I had to somehow figure out how to carry my 50# dog to the vehicle without falling or tripping in the rain. Once that was done, I proceeded to make my way an... read more

The front desk person has no compassion for the animals and is cold, rude, and condescending. I will not be returning

Don't let the name fool you... this place is NOT "affordable". it cost me $250 to get my kitty vaccinated including $30 each time (3 visits=$90) for the Dr. to perform the shot! Vaccines are pennies at cost and a trained monkey can perform them no problem. These prices are pure robbery. I thought I was getting a kitty package on the first visit. Turns out each visit is its own package and it takes 3 "packages" to vaccinate a cat. Also, Annie Lennox, up at the front desk should only be allowed to talk to the animals as cle... read more

$530 for a dental cleaning for my dog. Will definitely not come back here anymore. They charge per tooth whether it be a minor, moderate, or major extraction on top of their whooping base fee of $280 for the dental cleaning. Save your money and go else where for dental cleanings. Who ever comes up with these prices needs to go to jail for robbery. And on top of the absurd pricing, getting an appointment for a dental cleaning can take well over a month. They did not even have the decency to call me before extracting EIGHT tee... read more

So after I had my bad experience here with one of their technicians, I refused to go back. But my roommate said he would take the dogs here. He made an online appointment for one of them and today, the day of the appointment, they called and said he made the appointment online and it wasn't a "real" appointment, just a request and they didn't have time for him. He asked why they have the online appointment system if they don't honor it and they had no answer. When he said it is good customer service to confirm appointmen... read more

Dr. Smolik and staff are always great, so knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. However, there is a management problem with making appointments. My pup probably has a tooth abscess and should be seen today, but I was told there were no appointments until Wednesday (today is Monday). I was told that I could walk in but I could expect to wait for hours to be seen. And they're not really very friendly about it. To me they should have a margin of time left for sick visits that come up suddenly. There is a wide difference ... read more
